Folders group related documents, canvases, and other folders together within a board tab. Use them to create structure within sections or at the root level of any board tab.

**To create a folder:**  
Click the plus folder icon in the left sidebar → Name it

When creating or renaming a folder, you can also customize its icon and icon color to make it easier to identify at a glance.

Folders can be nested inside other folders for deeper organization.

**Example:**

- Novel (folder)  
  - Act One (folder)  
    - Chapter 1 (document)  
    - Chapter 2 (document)  
  - Act Two (folder)  
    - Chapter 3 (document)

- **Change icon** - Choose from available icons  
- **Change color** - Change the icon color
